Davinia Palomares-Montero
I do research on Sociology of Education, Curriculum Studies, Didactics and Innovation and assessment of Research Public Institutions. I am currently working as Assistant professor at the Department of Teaching Methods in the University of Valencia.
I hold a PhD in Sociology (University of Valencia, 2010) focused on science and education. I have a large experience in research in assessment of higher education institutions and sociology of science, with knowledge focused on educational contexts and processes, and curriculum studies.
I have participated in around 20 research projects and contracts in these fields. For example, my research has been funded by the Red Prime of the European Commission, the National Program from the National R&D Plan and the local government of Spain.
The results of my research have been published in journals of high impact factor (Higher Education, Research Evaluation, Regional and Sectorial Economics Studies, ARBOR, etc.) and presented in national and international conferences.
During my career, I have also developed doctoral stays at the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA) at University of Maastricht (Maastricht, Netherlands), 2008 and at the Center for Higher Education Policy Studies (CHEPS) at Twente University (Enschede, Netherlands) 2009 and a post-doctoral stay at the Catholic University of Santiago de Chile (Chile), 2012.
In 2008, her minor thesis was awarded by the European Foundation for Information Society and e-Government and by Euroeditions (Grant 2007-2008) and in 2012 she received the PhD Extraordinary Award in the area of economics and sociology to the thesis “Mission of the University: Toward complementarity or substitution. The case of Spanish public universities,” directed by Dr. Adela Garcia Aracil and Dr. Manuel Garcia Ferrando. University of Valencia.
